Statement

In the Tannaitic period in Palestine, works interpreting the legal parts of the Torah were also composed: the Mekhilta of Rabbi Ishmael (Exodus), Sifra (Leviticus), Sifre Be-Midbar (Numbers) and Sifre Devarim (Deuteronomy).
