ZAKHORIUM

Statement

Jewish-Christian interaction showed up in every walk of life, from 'court Jews' down to the lower classes. In high culture there are many cases of mutual influence, reaching from philosophy and theology into literature. Immanuel of Rome, a Hebrew poet (d. 1328) was shaped by the Hebrew poetic tradition of Spain but plainly knew Italian poetry, and his poem on 'hell and paradise' reflects the influence of Dante's epic.
