Statement

Annette Yoshiko Reed argues that 'Jewish-Christian' texts and groups (including Pseudo-Clementine material) do not fit a modern schema that treats Judaism and Christianity as closed categories. Some late antique authors and communities treated Jesus as a distinctive actor in the story of salvation while still finding no clash with Torah observance and the ongoing validity of God's covenant with Israel.
